2012 Football Coaching Opportunities
Through FTF, parents can participate in the experience of football as a coach. FTF offers an opportunity to develop and improve football knowledge and coaching skills.
Coaches spend significant time with their team in various roles. Coaches are instructors, advisors, motivators, mentors and friends. FTF offers many resources to help parents learn effective coaching skills. Coaches form close bonds, not only with the youth football participants, but also with other coaches.
FTF requires that at least one (1) coach per team be certified in first aid and be certified by USA Football’s Coaches Certified Education Program. FTF requires all coaches receive a background check and complete a coaching application/contract. FTF also encourages its volunteer coaches to develop their coaching skills by participating in New England region coaching clinics. Many FTF coaches attend coaching clinics sponsored by the National Football League and the National Football Foundation at the New England Patriots training facility at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts; at the University of Maine; and at Bates College. Additionally, FTF coaches annually attend the Frank Glazier Football Mega Clinics in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Coaching is an enriching experience – helping to develop the character of our student athletes through hard work, discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork. Consider joining the FTF coaching staff this season. New coaches must be approved by the VP of Football Operations and the FTF Board.
